If you are in the Chicago area, I will come to you for our initial meeting. At that point I will make a note of each article of clothing you have for me and we can discuss design options. Long distance customers can mail their articles to me after we have communicated by phone or email. I will follow any tracking info you send to me and email you as soon as your items have arrived.
For t shirt quilts I have used as many as 65 t shirt graphics to create a queen sized quilt, or as few as 4 t shirt graphics to create a throw sized quilt. These quilts can also include any other special clothing items. I have used items such as robes, jerseys, ties, pajamas, business shirts, jackets, and jeans. From what I recall, leather is the only item to which I have said no. I aim to incorporate as many items as you want in the quilt. Any unused items are returned to you.
Baby clothes quilts can include collars, pockets, hats, mittens, bibs, blankets, pants, dresses, onesies, etc. With any quilt, especially the baby clothes quilts, I am willing to work in the pockets, zippers, and buttons. I can work in as few or as many t shirts or articles of clothing that you want. The design can be simple squares, columns, or a patterned quilt. Come to me with ideas!
Back at my studio I photograph each item and download the photos into a digital design software program. The quilt is completely custom to your items and preferences. The digital designs will include fabric options for additional quilt fabric needed for sashing, borders, and/or backing. Your quilt will need additional fabric, at least for the backing and binding. Simple Kona cottons in a wide range of solid colors are included in the price. Any other special ordered quilt fabric may have an additional cost.
The finished quilt will look amazingly similar to the picture I send you by email, assuring you we are on the same page with the design and fabric choices. (see the photos below for an example) Final allover quilting is done by machine, not hand.
Design created with software which is emailed to and finalized by the client
