The Process
Step 1
Please contact me about your project and we will determine if I am able to fill your order within your timeline. Quilts can take as little as three weeks or up to six months. My turn around time depends on the time of year, the size of your quilt, the size of your order, the complexity of the design, and the availability of additional fabric.
Step 2
Either ship me your clothing or we will meet in person. I'm in the Chicago area and am always happy to drive to the homes of local customers. If you are shipping your clothing, I ask that you send me notes about particulars that you want to include in the quilt. Tracking info is always appreciated. Either with the shipment or at our meeting, I ask for a $100 non refundable deposit per quilt. Payments can be made thru PayPal, Venmo, cash or check.
Step 3
I create your quilt designs with photographs of your clothing and email options to you. The software I use makes it easy to create many designs for you in order to find just the right choice of additional fabrics, type of layout, and price range. I'm always willing to take on the challenge of an unusual design, but also appreciate the simplicity and structure of the traditional grid.
Step 4
After you have finalized which design you prefer, I will order your fabric and put you on my calendar. Any items not used in the quilt will be returned to you. No clothing is cut until the design is finalized by you. I will communicate my general progress and ask any questions along the way.
Step 5
I personally deliver or ship your beautiful quilt! Payment of the balance is due either upon personal delivery or during the final stages of making the quilt(s). Quilts are shipped once the balance is paid in full. Tracking info is provided to you.
